Help Me Please! :)
« on: August 16, 2009, 06:12:15 PM »
My name is Jessica I'm 22 years old. This is my first year bear hunting (archery). I'm very excited about it! I've been hunting a spot outside of Issaquah that seemed promising, called in a few bears but in the last week it seems that someone or something has ran all of the bears out. I haven't heard or seen anything. It's very frustrating. If anyone has any spots that they are willing to share I would be very thankful! Does anyone know of any good spots where you have been seeing bears on a regular basis??? Thanks Guys!   :hello:

Bear will become call shy as fast or faster then the smartest yote.  When you say you called them in before, what happened?  Did they figure out what was up or did you choose not to shoot them?  Once you call one in and he figures out something is wrong they are not going to be called back in with the same call and cadence.

I bet the primary food source has changed. If you are not finding fresh sign then there is no sense in calling.

I would suggest some more scouting in the general area and look for recent feeding activity. If it has been hot and the berries are not ripe (or done already) then you may look in the draws and drainages that hold water and other food sources like huck and salal.

Good luck.

If you are so tight on your spots, why are you always asking others to share their locations?   :dunno:

Women :)  Think they can stroll right in and get what they want! JK JK...but seriously, for your 2nd post, don't ask for everyone's secret spot..../sigh

BTW I'm also looking for secret spots for guarenteed animals, please PM with GPS coordinate locations, and if you could drive me to the spot I'd also appreciate it, and if you're packing the cooler I only drink Evian Water, and i enjoy Dijon Mustard with my Turkey Sandwhich, also, I only have a .22 handgun, so if you had an extra rifle that'd be great.  Is it better to call or just watch?  Also is the "National Park" open?  I saw a bear in there one time. Thanks for your help!
