wyoming, montana trip
« on: August 17, 2009, 09:43:41 AM »
Went to yellowstone and a few other joints this past week or so. Put over 2000 miles on my rig...she held up good.

Saw the sites, lots of deer, antelope, elk, bison, road kill bear, 2 foxes and gorgeous country. Here are some pics that I took.

I called in the coyote to 20 yards in an alfalfa field...I think I got my GF's uncle hooked on it. He has never really called in predators before. Got permission to come hunt this farmers field for deer/yotes, anytime...now I just got to get over there.

The elk were in a small sporting goods store. The story was an archery hunters found one bull dead (horn through the neck), the other still struggling (antlers were stuck) so he stuck the live one, and had them mounted as he found them.

Good times...now time to go bear hunting.

No, I called it in on a private farm. I was in a tree stand, the yote came into 20 yards...had no clue I was there..it was a 'blast'.

I went through Montana and to Wyoming this past weekend and ended up in that same gun store in Cody. Pretty cool mount. First time I had ever seen antelope was on this trip. Beautiful country out that way.
Everyone has something to teach, so listen up

Thanks for posting the pics. Did you collect the bounty on the coyote?
Wyoming is my favorite State, I'll be there in a couple weeks!  That museum in Cody is pretty amazing.
