My shop takes care of me!!!!
« on: August 17, 2009, 08:47:01 PM »
I went to Rainier Archery the other day and he gave me an older arrow backstop that was not good enough for the shops use anymore. It is plenty good for my use. Joe and all the guys there are class act fellows. Thanks JOE!!!!!! I will carry the shops name on my shoulders during my Nooksack Hunt!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah that's nice and all but it's too bad they don't treat all their customers like that!!! Not talking about free stuff it would just be cool if they were nice. Well done WAPITIHUNTER  I'm glad for ya ... you sure are in the minority on this one  :)

I have only dealt with Joe at Rainier Archery and have always received great service too Wapiti. There are good and poor customer service stories in every retail business, I'm sure archery shops are no different. When a customer walks into a store with an issue, they are also walking into the store with, in their minds, the acceptable solution. It has been my experience that when the "acceptable" solution is not reached, you have your "poor" customer service story. It would do Joe and his employees good if they, and other shops, listened to the customer and maybe asked what, in the customers mind, it would take to remedy the issue. A happy customer will tell one person about their experience, a disgruntled customer will tell 10. :twocents:

That's good stuff Phool! but I don't think that Joe is that smart, The only way I have found to get that type of service from Joe is if you drop a 1000 bucks  those are the guys that come on here and defend him, including you I bet you've dropped a good portion there huh? Now go in there with something that is small under 40 bucks that needs to be fixed and you never dropped the 1000 at his place and you'll be treated differently.

If he was smart and he treated those small customers the same, Where do you think they would want to buy their next bow? Joe doesn't seem to think this way and I received that kind of treatment early on so that is why he has never received my business when it came time to make the big purchase, heck I wont even take the small stuff there either.

It's not the bows that are making the shop money.  It's the accessories and little things that make money.  Tuning, fletching.....etc.  I have worked in Pro shops covering for the owners when they go hunting.  What a pain in the ass customers are.  You are right when they com in with preconceved ideas.  And then there is the guy that comes in with 10 printed pages from archery talk knowing everything.  From now on I will not try to help those guys I will do just what they want smile and take their money.

But there are are guys that come in and are willing to listen and maybe take a free lesson, those are the customers that I like.  My hats off to you shop owners.  Cept maybe those xXx guys, they deserve the special ones.  :P

So any of you guys able to recommend a shop further north? I live in Monroe and work in factoria so any shops in close vicinity to either place is somewhere i could actually frequent. I've been to Van Winkle's in Everett and haven't tried Nock Point yet, but i'm wondering if there are more choices.

I have also had great service from Joe and the guys at Rainier Archery (Graham) and yes I have purchased my bow from them. But I have also watched how they treat new customers as well. You have some guys who come in and know it all, regardless of the professional experience the guys behind the counter have. This is the way they want it done, so they do it, and when the guy has problems its the shops fault. This time of year it really gets crazy. Shops are busy now, new strings, out of tune bows, broken this or that, they work hard to help people out. Someone came in and had like 2 dozen arrows, all messed up and Joe had one of the guys get at least a half dozen arrows worked on right then so the guy could shoot. As busy as they were he didn't have to do that, come back next week and they will be ready would have been ok with the guy. I know every shop can't please everyone, but I guess I am lucky. They do it right for me.
