My suggestion is to try and find some locally to try on first. It's tough buying a pair of boots without putting them on your feet.
They look less gay than those danners too

However, I thought these Danner Vanish boots would be awesome, but the thingies that the bootlace wraps around on the upper part of the boot dug into my calves as I walked. Tried several pairs and always got that result. Good thing I learned that in the store and not after getting a 'deal' on eBay or something. What you really need to do is block out about 5-6 hours that you can go down and try on everything in the store that has the features you want. Then you will find the boot that works for your foot not your brothers!!
Your feet can be your lifeline in the backcountry so keep them happy.
