My early bow season is done
« on: July 22, 2009, 01:48:55 PM »
Went to the docs today and I have surjery scheduled for the 21 of August to remove a csyst(sp) I asked him if I would be able to hold my bow at full draw, he wasn't sure he said we will find out after the surgery is done. he said the rehab time would be 3 to 4 months. Guess I will have to get an auto-cocker for the crossbow and see if I can use that. Sucks to because I usually see more deer in the ealry part of the season.

How bad does the cyst hurt?  If it was my hunting season or the cyst I think I'd be able to handle the cyst.  Sorry to hear it bro.  It's a long season though I'm sure it'll work out for you.

Sounds like Bullmaster is offering to go with you, draw back for you, and had the bow back to you for the kill.  Nice guy.  On a serious note, sorry to hear that as well.

I have been trying to see a doc for over a year to get it removed, seems like the Air Force docs don't have the time for it, had to drive up to Walter Reed to see a retired Army doc who knows his stuff. I wanted to get it removed during the off season so I would have enough time to rehab, but with the scheduling of appointments this was the only time I could get it done. As far as the pain yeah it has gotten worse over the past year.

If you want to come back and hunt with me that would be cool. The harvest limits for where I hunt is unlimted does with a bow, shotgun and muzzleloader are 10 does and 2 bucks, most of region B in the state of maryland is 10 does and 2 bucks for all three weapons, you can't use high powered rifles in region B. Bow season opens Sept. 15 and runs all the way through the end of Jan. The land I hunt belongs to a retired judge for the state of maryland and he is a really nice guy, all total I have 35 acres to hunt on.

Well went into for surgery on Friday and got into the room for the iv and they cancelled the surgery because of the humidity in the or, so now I have to wait until October because the surgen is taking all of mext month off. Which means I will be able to hunt the first part of the season and after the surgery I will be using the crossbow. Just a pain that I have to wait even longer to get this over and done with.

Good luck to you all on the 1st.
