Over the course of the last couple of weeks, my son has decided he'd really like to take up bow hunting. It's a little late in the year right now to start buying the gear, so I told him next year he'd get his chance. Anyhow, I was wondering if anyone could give me some good ideas for good quality but inexpensive bows and accessories.
I know Hoyt makes good bows, but they seem to be a little out of my price range right now. I saw a Kodiak bow at Wholesale Sports for just under $300. No one was behind the counter then so he didn't get a chance to try it out. Does Kodiak make good stuff? Does anyone make a good starter kit? What about arrows, Aluminum or carbon fiber? How about things like tree stands?
My son is 16, stands 5'10" and is plenty strong so he wouldn't need a youth bow or anything like that.
