Are you a member of WSB?
« on: April 24, 2007, 08:57:17 PM »
I was wondering how many of you bowhunters are members of the Washington State Bowhunter? Are any of you going to the Annual Banquet? It would be nice to meet up with other WSB members! I have been a member for 3 yrs.

If you are not a member and would like more information shoot me an email. I really like the fact that they send out a magazine every couple of months. It is helpful in keeping up with the changes affecting our sport and give lots of good tips!

Here is their website:

I'm a member, but am going to miss this years banquet.  I'll see you there next year though when I'm picking up my Glen St Charles Award. :chuckle:

Honestly a couple years ago, the banquet was one of the best experiences in my life.  First of all, my wife and I got to go to it was a date.  Having kids, thats a miracle in itself.  She spent the day shopping and came home with an outfit to die for and jewelry.  I got to walk in with this fashion model hottie on my arm with a set of moose antlers and muley antlers that were also to die for.  The moose won the Glen St Charles award.  In the spirit of things I bought a moose drawing.  I was a little torqued on that as a guy was bidding against me just to get the price up.  It went for a good cause I guess.  We had a great dinner, then bought a card to be thrown in the hat, for which we won a 3-d Bear.  Everyone thought I was the luckiest man on the planet, and for that night I believed them.  I got to meet Glen himself who is a legend.  I got to meet a bunch of nice folks and my wife loved all of the attention in her glory.  It was a GREAT night.

I have been a member for many years. I never made it to the Banquet. I did take the kids to the Elk Feeding Party at Oak Creek every year. I just sent in $200 for the Bowhunter Defense Fund, even though I havent Bowhunted in quite a few years.

I've sent in a bunch of cash to that as well.  I keep waiting for it to reach its maturity so that I can go on that caribou hunt. :)  I think Pacyew has been up there.  I bet its awesome.

I put a link on the front page to their site. I would have done it sooner than that but my brain wasn't functioning too well. In the future feel free to send me a private message so that I can get more interest in these events by placing them on our front page as well.

Sorry for the late reply.  Don't go on to this site often.  Mike Dunlap won the Glen St. Charles this year with a great elk  Me......I usually spend $50 on tickets and rarely get anything, but the purpose is to raise money for the club so it doesn't matter.   They drew the WSB Bowhunter Defense Fund award that we have been contributing for years   Won by Ted Leibly.  It is a Caribou hunt in Quebec.  No sweat on that either as I leave in 2 weeks for Caribou in Alaska.

Thanks for the report.  I would really like to do a caribou hunt, but I rather chase those hard antlered ones.  I'm not much of a velvet sort of guy.  Any trip to Alaska however, would be awesome.
