A big ol' poo, but no owner
« on: August 21, 2009, 10:58:34 PM »
Up in some brushy country with a nice set a meadows. Found some decent sign. I went up with Chester from this site, but no bearski's came running to the calls. Weather was amazing, the hike out was a little, how do you say, eventful. Whilst slipping and sliding through the brush down to the creek I take a nice seat on a bee's nest. This forces my slipping/sliding velocity to triple. Luckily for me, I was the first person down and only got stung 3 time. Chester was following closely behind and I think he probably got more like 6 or 7. To add insult to injury, in the rapid descension from the bee hive he lost his phone and camera.

WE started climbing through the creek, when the brush got thick. I decided it was time to whip out the Kukri (Machete from India) and I rambo'd  three of my fingers, thanks to a nice hole in the sheath. It was almost not worth the $6 I payed for it at the Monroe gun show!! Almost.

We eventually got back all right. It was a new spot I checked out, I think I'll be back in there sometime.

Ck out the size of the attached bear dumper...

Sounds like a party. Sorry to hear bout the phone/camera. I had a similar experience years ago, I stepped on the wrong log up in the Naches...cracked it open...hornets nest. :chuckle:

Pretty area your at. Good luck, keep at it!

It's always better to be out there than at work, even with the mishaps!  ;)
