I belive the solution is for everyone to play by the same rules, plain and simple. We cant possibley have good game management otherwise. If you say you think the treatys are dated and need to be changed, Im not going to call you a bigot, Ill agree with you on that point. If you just want to bad mouth folks just for their heritage, well I already said it, didnt I. I think most of us that hunt with the passion we have, white or Indian would agree, it should no longer be about what I think I have coming to me or what you think you have coming to you, It needs to start being about the elk, deer, bear, all the critters that we love to hunt and most of all, having them around for our kids to hunt.

Amen!

Now I see how ya got the name deaddog, better than two dogs, well you know...........Good post brother...For me let the past be the past..We should all live as one In this great country.I believe if we could this would be an even greater country.Long as we split races and beliefs, and not think as one for the country,we will fall eventually
That's what I believe.  The indians would be very respected if they didn't have the special rights.  With special rights, come racism and jealousy.
Think about your statement for just a minute if you can scrape two brain cells together for the party,     They would be very respected ( I assume you mean whites would respect them) if they didnt have the rights whites gave them, but we gave them the rights so we should treat them with racism and jealousy. Or did I misunderstand what you so firmly belive?
No need to be a *censored* dead dog.  All I was saying is that special rightsbreed racism.  It's a fact of life.  The indians will never be totally respected by this generation of white folks because of it, no matter who gave them those rights.  It's no different with any other race that recieves special treatment.  I guess the only difference is that they are a sovereign nation and I do respect that, but that changes when they come off the rez. :twocents:

Jealousy has nothing to do with it, it's just flat out BS. Those treaties should have been altered when the tribes were given exclusive rights to the casino industry. Also, if these natives are so interested in keeping their heritage intact, why do they hunt with the white mans weapons? It's because they don't give a s___ about what their ancestors did, it's all about taking advantage of what they can, here and now, allowed by our government.

Please read the treaty's of the tribes that you are concerned with or read all of them some can hunt some cant some have more say on what goes on in this territory than the State some must do what the State tells them. Some of the Tribes that you complain about are regulated or work with the State. I just ask that you read up and understand what you are talking about before you start popping off. And sagerat please look into the exclusive rights with casino's are you talking about casino's on the rez because anyone can open one off the rez, also I was wandering about the weapons the white man had please look up who had the first rifle. It was not a white man.

I'm not looking up anything. This is a stupid discussion, things will never change. I just saw a dead buck in August and thought it was pretty lame and it is no matter who shot it and I feel the same with this goat. Makes no sense to me but it sure as hell does to the ones that can do it. I don't mind hunting for leftovers, I get my share. ;) By the way, who invented the first aluminum fishing boat, synthetic gill nets, rifle scopes, outboard motor, bolt action, etc......

as long as certain races are given special treatment there will always be racism, take way the special rights and I would have alot more respect for the natives. equal rights! for everyone!

Yakndn, actually no entity may open any casino similar to the ones the tribes open, even the ones tribes open off the reservation. Do you see any non-tribal casinos that are similar, any examples other than Reno/Vegas, etc....In this state?

Other issues surrounding tribal venues trouble us taxpayers. Washington state taxpayers continually spend resources extinguishing fires on the reservations. Sovereign nations? Tribal venues do not carry liability insurance. Ever hear of someone suing a tribal casino for slippin on ice, or sexual harassment, or other negligence like selling explosives to children? Not that I have hear of...  Do tribes pay Labor and Industries insurance for workers like all other businesses in the state are forced to pay? Tribes can place a music venue into a neighborhood, totally disregarding the normal traffic and safety enhancement/measures which normal business would have to put in place, with no penalty.

Tribal members who are arrested off the reservation are surely treated completely different than are normal Washingtonians..., is this fair? Please don't even try to defend this issue, I know it very well, and can assure you that many tribal members are basically getting a get out of jail free card many times....no prosecution, no jail, nothing. Turned over to the tribe for nothing....no prosecution on their end either...

Do tribes collect sales or over the road fuel taxes at "tribal" gas stations? Do they reimburse the state these taxes, or pocket them?

Tribes are manufacturing cigarettes in this state now, are they collecting and reimbursing the government like other business would have to?

Lets face it, Tribes in this state have every single opportunity to royally screw over the citizens of this state, and they take full advantage of it.

Sovereign Nation my ass.
