Well done. I doubt I will ever get the chance. I am glad you have been able to. It looks like a nice one and the work you put into it sounds like it was well earned.

Nice ram! You hike in east of the Haul Road? Looks like an above average Brooks ram...I would guess 36 inches on the left side, slightly over 13" bases. I'm heading off to hunt the Chugach Oct 1-10 archery only, I'm sure you've heard of the hunt.

Oct. hunting in AK......wow!  You gotta be part sheep too.  Definatly a case for whites.  You'll see snow for sure.  Good luck on that archery hunt.

He is a big ram for the Brooks.  I went in East although I think a Westward hike could produce some cool horn too.  The Bio in Fairbanks hunted the area I was in and has taken a few rams out of there.  He was certainly impressed by the caliber of this animal.  He's 37 and almost 38" on the long side.  13+ bases.  I wrote the measurements from F&G but lost em somewhere.  Opps.

I don't care all that much.  I'm just tickled to have another mt. trophy on the wall.  I'll share photos of the finished mount next year.

I'm not so into the story thing.  Sorry guys.  If ya haul me back to elk camp then the lips get a-flying.

Thanks for all the positive comments.  I know you all harbor some great trophies yourself.  In fact a big early season Muley is just as hard earned as a Dall Sheep and in some cases more so.  So while I've scored on Brown Bear, Mt. Goat, and Dall.  I still look forward to taking a large Elk and Mule deer.  I've hunted them in the Alpine with rifle and bow but still haven't connected.

Yeah that's definitely above average for the brooks. I think average is around 33". Doesnt really matter to me either. I moved to WA three years ago from Anchorage, I've hunted them 6 times with a bow, this year will make seven. Never connected although hiked into east of h-road 2 years ago and my sister killed one.

I'm really nervous about the Oct hunt but I'll be seeing a lot of sheep...jsut a matter of if it will be possible to get anywhere near them. Cant control the weather so just have to prep as good as I can and hope for the best.

Good luck Bowman!  Your gonna be up against the elements for sure.  Short days ect......

It will make the trophy so much more valuable.  If your in em you'll just need good gear to weather the wait.

You've earned a ram.  Now go collect.
