Shouldn't you be out practicing?

It's that time to hit it hard and heavy from here on out. No rifle hunter mentality here. Getting into a rythm is absolutley necessary. When the opportunity happens we should not have to think about our shot. We should have practiced so much that it is all automatic. So lets get out there and make it happen. Practice till it hurts. If your practice session sucks rocks just chalk it up for a bad day and try again the next.

Wishing all a successful and safe season. Looking forward to reading everybodies hunting stories and viewing all your pictures also. On that note I am going out to shoot a little before it gets dark.

I just got in from shooting broadheads. I didnt need to make any ajustment to my mathews. Shoot good out to 40. I'll expand on that tomorrow. Good luck to all!

Been shooting almost daily, lucky enough that we have an area set up to shoot at the station so we get in a session or two per shift also.

I HAVE been out practicing. In fact as of late I've been practicing like a madman...as my sore arm can testify.

Lucky for me I live about 2 miles from Skookum so I get to shoot very often, twice today.  Broadheads flying very nicely. Now is when I see the last minute crowd trying to work the bugs out a week before deer opens, and two before elk.

I wasn't going to archery hunt at all this year because I have been having trouble with my old bow, and after shooting my buddy's Mathew's, I started hating my bow. But, today, I got a new Mathew's Reezen, and the tight groups that I'm already shooting, well, if the broadheads shoot that well, I think I'll be able to archery hunt after all. If I am confident of course. So far I'm very impressed with the accuracy of these new bows.

Sight your rifle in two days before the season opens. That is the only time you ever shoot you gun. Been there done that.

Don't worry Iceman I have rifle hunted my entire life since 11 years of age. Does the words Pray and Spray ring a bell.
Unfortunatley there are quite a few archers who carry that over from rifle hunting into archery hunting. WOW!

If we are going to be successful at our chosen method of hunting practice is absolutley necessary. It just so happens that it takes a little more practice to be successful at archery than it does rifle hunting. I have done both for a long time and I have nothing against rifle hunters. All I am saying is I have done the pray and spray and it does not work. Unless you get out and practice all types of shooting with your rifle, prone, kneeling, standing, leaning on the limb of a tree, laying over your back pack, leaning over a large boulder etc, etc, etc, you are not gonna be ready. From what I have seen over the years, being that I am also a rifle hunter, The majority of rifle hunters sight there rifles in the last two weeks before the season opens and they don't practice shooting otherwise during the course of the year. Hence my comment.

Shot yesterday and will shoot today.......everything is shooting just as good as it was a month ago and two months ago and 6 months ago...........

BUT I saw these Monster bows at the bow shop and dude shooting 47lbs out of one was shooting just as fast as a 70 pound bowtech

I want one!
