They have never hunted the unit and it isall wilderness has anyone hunted the chamberlin basin? sound like they might get flowin in using air taxi. I heard there was alot of fires last year any one know where? any help on what trail head they should take if they hike in with a few mules?

We don't hunt Chamberlin, but if I could give any advice, it'd be to get on a stair stepper....Steep Country!

Hey, i havent hunted in there since 05, and that was before the fires. i got my first and only 6x6. best elk country ive ever seen. and they bugle to a cow call during rifle season. unit 27. have fun

glad i found it... ive been deployed since dec. 05, and my family is tired of me talking about elk! but for some reason thats all i can think about.

you have to get a permit to hunt 26 and 27 for deer. I've seen a lot of elk in there but nothing to big. if you want a spike or rag horn for the meat its a good bet. that is a hunt you need to be in good shape for.

Hi
Hunted cold meadows just se of chamberlain for fifteen years last time in 2006,
they would take the trailhead at big creek if there takin mules about a 25 mile ride.
i will pm my number if they need any info they can call me.
