I was just west of Colockum scouting around about a week ago (in 328 a little west of the Colockum) one day after work (I live in Eburg so it's in my backyard).  I don't have a bull tag, but will be just hunting for "true spikes" starting in a couple of weeks.  There was a bull bugling and a bunch of cows chirping.  I didn't see him although he was close.  It was pretty thick and I didn't want to screw around and blow him and the herd out or start educating him on bugling, so I was just quiet and kind of backed out without letting them know I was there.

I don't know if it was a huge bull but it wasn't a spike, either.  Good luck if you have a tag - I have seen some nice bulls in there in the past.

I was up there about 2 months back, saw plenty of elk. The last few years I have had a nice bulls(5pt's) walk right by my blind..but no tag.

Good luck to whomever has it.

for the 13th year, no any bull tag here, or any others I hunt with. Planning to go over there in the next couple weeks.

Just talked to one of my hunting buddies who spent the weekend up at our old camp between 4 corners and Whiskey corner. Said he saw many animals and what he thought were poachers on Jumpoff ridge Rd just above the line shack and below Bull Flats. Said as they were driving in that they saw what looked like a dust storm where the road leaves the steel line headed for the wood line. They stopped where the old steel line rd (closed) intersects Jumpoff to see a truck driving up said  rd and soon after multiple shots. Called in on the incident and was told it was Indians.....no big deal

I would kill each and every one of you for that tag.   :chuckle:  I know of a few spots that I don't even have to scout.  They are ALWAYS in there.  Would definately hold out for a 350" bull, even with my bow.  The Colockum is a very special place indeed.  It's sad if the WDFW were worth a *censored*e that place could rival any place in MT, NM or AZ.

Been up there a few times lately.  Big herds.  I can't wait to draw that tag...every year I can find a monster bull....and then take a pretty little picture of it :'(.  I'm heading there on Sunday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't wait, I'm in rut!

I would love to coach.  I plan on doing that the last week of september.  Between the 20th and the 26th.  I've been looking for someone to come up with me and film.  It' alot of fun.  "Camera Kills" are awsome.

That's pretty cool.  I was up there snooping around today and saw a rag horn 5 point, some really nice bull back in the trees (didn't get a great look at him but he was quite a bit better than the rag horn) and a bunch of cows.  Bugling and chirping like crazy.  Fun morning - I was back to work by 8:00am.
