How do the pictures turn out?  What is the battery life like?
I really like the idea of this since my hunting area is on the other side of the state.  The thing that I am worried about is picture quality.  If I could get the quality of a homebrew that could send pictures, that would be sweet.

I'm thinking you wanna make sure you get cell signal where you want to put the camera. It would suck to buy it and put it up and not have the cell signal. LOL. Most places I hunt it would not work. I bet it would be a cool option though!!

Is the taste of the bait worth the sting of the hook twice?

Yeah the smart scouter and I believe there are a few others out there.  I think one of them works on a wifi system.  That makes tons of sense cuz there are tons of wireless networks out in the woods. :dunno:

Picture quality is as good as the megapixels you have on your cam. There at least 4 companys making these cams. They are not cheap , they just don't send pics to you for free. You are going to pay some company for the services and use of cell towers to transmit the images. What I have seen was under 100 pics a month $40 a month 900 pics was $99 a month, I dunno about you but 1,000 a week in my spots is pretty easy to do. And yes you have to a cell signal where cam is, so
Any draws or canyons in the mts is a no go

Wow!  I knew the cameras were expensive to buy but I had no idea they would cost that much to sent the pictures.  For that price I would be better off driving to go get them.

As cool as the idea is..  In my experience unless you are using the LONG life batteries or solar power or something, the batteries will last about one month give or take a little.  So I guess you could pay to see the pictures instantly or when you go to change out your batteries every month, just look then??
