Thanks guys, I guess I didn't really realize the .284 and the wsm family of cartridges were so close in nature.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.

Bearhunter
I have a Remington 700VS with the Carbon Fiber Barrel which was basically copied
by Christensen Arms. remington made only 1500 of these guns from 1999-2001
223,22-250 and the 308 caliber. I have the 308. I have killed 1 bear with this and 2 deer since I have owned it. It has a 1 1/4" dia barrel and it very light.
I'm not sure it CA made these for Remington but they are very similar and from what I hear they did have something to do with it ( my info could be wrong though).
I will tell you this. The gun shoots a 3/4" group at 200yds off the bench with a 5 shot group. I have this gun topped with a Leupold VXIII 6.5X20X40 OT WEith the Target Dot retical and it is a tack driver.  You will not go wrong with a CA rifle.
I have also shot 7 rounds kinda quickly strickly just to fire form my brass and the barrel wasn't even warm.  Disapates heat 10 times faster than you regular steel barrels.  I shoot up at the Plantation if your interested sometime I'll let ya shoot it

Thanks everyone for the info, I wonder how badly wind will drift the 257 weatherby?

the 100gr 257 pills are between .35 and .45 bc depending on mfr so they are pretty resistent to drift. I consider my 257 to be my go to gun for long range hunting. I have many a coyote under my belt at rediculous ranges with the 100gr tsx.

I shoot factory 100 grain Hornady SP's, longest coyote, 408 down in Dayton, longest buck for myself, 502 over in Idaho. One of the pards killed a Muley with my rifle at 700 in Montana. Its my go to gun for rattling bucks at 30 yards or shooting across canyons in Idaho. The 257 Roy will not disapoint.
