here's what i got a couple days ago since we're showing the cute moose in the front yard pics...
again 1....2....3.......awwwww




this was part of the story i got with the pics...i'm sure the pics have  probably been around a while.

The mother picked     a small quiet neighborhood and had her baby in the front yard at 5:30 am   We  were out bike riding when we came upon the pair. The lady    across the street from this house told us she saw it being born. We saw     them at 5:30 pm . So the little one was 12 hours old.    What an awesome place we live in to see such a site.

Here is a washington moose pic I pulled off of the Boone site a year ago.  If anybody recognizes these boys or this bull, get them on here.  Great moose.  He scored way better than I thought he would, but this is the only pic I have seen on it.  Very nice moose.

Obviously spread isn't everything.  I've had several e-mails from folks wanting to know about field judging moose, both Shiras and Alaskan.  Do you guys want some moose pics posted(not necessarily mine) and talk about characteristics, to shoot or not etc.

Does anyone out there have a shoulder mount of a shiras at home?  If so, could you measure from the eyeball to the end of the nose for me and let me know what the distance is?  Also ear tip to tip.  Thanks.  These measurements will give me a guesstimate of width for my buddy.

The guy on the left of that picture works for the same agency that I do. He works in Deer Park so I don't talk to him much. The guy on the right is the one with the permit. He performed a drive by shooting while it was bedded in a clearcut in the Three Forks unit a few years ago.

Isn't hunters orange required when hunting Moose in Washington?  Or was that a bowkill??hmmmmmmm......

it may be required for rifle hunting moose, but i guarantee it's not required for photo's.

Here's a pic of a Huckleberry moose that a friend of a friend shot 3 years ago. T'was a nice tender one.



Goldtip, orange is only required if it coincides with modern firearm season deer or elk. I have often taken off extra gear and clothes before my pictures were taken so I too have quite a few pic's of me with critters when I didn't have my orange on. Maybe that's what they did I don't know.

I have two at home and you will be shocked at the difference.  Check out my two mounts on here, or maybe thats in the taxidermy section.  They don't even look like the same species.  The one I had to use an Alaskan moose form on.

Thanks for posting those up Blaster.  A monster moose for sure.  Get that guy on here and lets hear some story.
