Looking forward to it, and I hope you add a bit of the story with it. I'm excited. It will probably be a long time fbefore my next moose hunt. Maybe Alaska in 2009. I'll have my name in alot of hats ths fall, but as you know, not too likely.

BONE REALLY appreciates the story. THATS AWESOME. Man I love this site. Better than any dnag magazine. You just sealed the deal man MOOSE 2009 or bust. That is so awesome. WHAT A HUNT! I can relate to every thing you wrote, from the wolves to the bears....ok maybe nt being trapped under a moose hip in a
I'd been laughing so hard I would have drowned in the slough. DANG. Having cut up 4 of those monsters I BET that was nasty on that bank. There are all sorts of ideas on how to handle that until you are there and all you have is your knife, and a small piece of rope. Moose don't float very well either. Damn, I just read your story out loud to my family, and will be reading it several more times. What an awesome bull. I commented that that bull would probably have to end up in the garage (little fight right now between the Mrs. and me) She is at her limit with moose antlers in the house. After hauling one of those in from 9 miles out, they become pretty precious.

Well I guess the women just can't see it from our side of the tracks. Heck I would love to have my deer, sheep, elk, antelope, and moose mounts in my front room or extra bedroom but my wife doesn't seem to see my side. So out they go in the garage in my workout room. She wonders why I love to spend so much time out there. Nothing like sitting back and reminiscing!! I was tempted on doing a shoulder mount of my moose but that would really take up some room. I helped a friend of mine put his shoulder mount up in his house. It pretty much took up the whole wall. He had a chair underneath it and you just looked up at this ominous object protruding 4 feet out from the wall. I thought it was awesome but us hunters appreciate things a little different than others I guess.

honestly I have to cut her some slack. I have lots of mounts in the house, but there is always room for more.
I will just need to get that building built and then throw the next hunting washington get together. Its frustrating how hard that Alaskan moose hunt was and how much I love to look at the bones. Once I get that buildingbuilt, she will wonder why I am never inside. Yoou're right about that. Thanks again for the story. Thats an incredible trophy. I love how the mountcame out. there is no way in hell I could hve carried outhis head though.

The house we live in now has big vaulted ceilings and when we first moved in I said would it not be cool to have a big mount up there on the wall.
Well her reaction was not the one I thought it was going to be so I dropped it, but now ten years later in this house and being married for 20, she is the one saying would that not be cool to have a bear rug on that wall and a couger sitting on a fake rock outcrop and a big elk head over there, now all I have to do is learn to shoot something to put up there.

Hey now, I'm the one who has to ask my husband if I can hang stuff in the house. I just quit asking and do it any way. I told him I own 50% of what we have!

I'm thinking about a new strategy. Leave it in the floor as pictured above until she lets me hang it. She can't move it so, her choice.

Michelle did you say you own 50% of what he has and 100% of what you have?

Did you see that evil look she had in her eyes even talking to Longtatlaw at the get together. Imagine that being mad.
