Maria Cantwell and HSUS Fundraiser
« on: September 02, 2009, 12:47:45 PM »
Just found this in the Seattle PI, apparently the Key Speaker at her fundraiser is the CEO of The Humane Society of the United States. The very group that is trying to ban all hunting in the US. This is a animal terrorist org in sheeps clothing.  >:(

And the guys on this site who vote for the Democrats can't see that voting for them is the same as voting for the morons trying to take what we love the most away.  Unbelievable!!

I may have voted for Obama but I didn't vote for Cantwell.  (I replace the "a" with a "u" in my pronunciation of her name)  I can't stand her or Greg Nickels.  We can get into the details but I can't stand a democrat on the state level of government.  The Humane Society has done some good things as far as animal adoptions but they have done some negative things that affect me regarding hunting.  They aren't PETA but they aren't good either...

Yeah, that.

I wish they were required to change their name.  It's too bad that their name is so similar to the local Humane Society which does good things............HSUS is bad news.

The HSUS and the Humane Society are 2 complete different orgs. The HSUS is 100% anti hunting and a PETA backed, Anti gun group. The humane society is a fairly decent org but still not a pro hunting group

HSUS is only I repeat ONLY the humane society in name....they do not fund any humane societies they do not operate any shelters they shut down dog fighting operations like vicks for publicity and donations, they fund anti hunting, anti breeding, anti ownership laws across the world, they are a vile nasty anti human group that has nothing good to do for animals.  The CEO is a vegan who doesn't even own a pet and has been quoted at an animal liberation type rally as saying "one generation and out" his idea for all domesticated animals....

sorry this really raises my blood pressure I do not like their sneaky underhanded theft from innocent people who care about animals.  They are in many ways scarier than peta will ever be......

I will be sending a nice letter to miss cantwel regarding her choice of domestic terrorist for key speaker...appalling  :bash: :bash:

Pope, your local Humane Society and HSUS are two different entities.  I think MOST Americans are also duped by the similar names.

Oh, I didn't know they were different.  I think the group that finds homes for lost animals is a decent cause.  Sounds like the HSUS isn't good at all.  Well, thanks for giving me one more reason to hate Cantwell...

Sounds like Deaddog is mad I'm not his enemy on this.  Sorry, but my life and choice doesn't revolve around my precious guns.  I like them but I use a shovel and a fishing pole more often than my guns.    :P

gobble has it right.....the HSUS is completely different than the HS. The HSUS has nothing to do with Humane Society and animal shelters. HSUS is political organization and nothing more.

I'm a little shocked Pope, honestly.  I thought you were joking with us.  I thought every single hunter and fisherman knew the difference between the HSUS and their local humane shelter.  I knew the average American didn't know this, but I thought every Sportsmen did.  And the last two lines is what makes me cringe with Hunters who support the Democratic Party.  The Democratic leaders at the National Level are FAR more dangerous to yours and mine hunting and fishing rights then the local politicians. IMNSOHO  My life and choice DOES revolve around hunting and fishing and your empowering our most powerful enemy, I just don't get it.

no offense meant....but the HSUS also wants to stop you from fishing, eating meat, wearing leather, and the list goes on.....I think they are the group that protests at Red Lobster and McDonalds restaurants. :twocents:

These groups are the very people you should be worried about if you are a fisherman. :twocents:

Probably all three.  I'll use my gun to kill my enemy, the shovel to bury them, and the fishing pole to feed myself...   ;)

I have a political philosophy regarding dems vs repubs.  I prefer repubs on the local and state level.  I think local government should be small and non-existent.  I think property and local taxes should be gone.  On a national level, it depends on the person running.  I disagree that there is more risk on the national level.  There have been much more restrictive state and local rules regarding guns and where/when people can possess them than there has ever been on a national level.

Machias - I understand the risks to our guns from the national level.  I'm not too worried about those risks.  Worst case scenario I might lose my ability to get a 15 round clip for my handgun on a Clinton type ban...  I might have to get one used...  Like I said, I have many more issues I'm worried about than my gun rights.  Everyone is different and what is important to you doesn't have to be as important to me.

Bearpaw - go back and read my last post.  To get this back on topic I am worried about groups like HSUS.  We can argue for fun but we are on the same side of the fence on that issue...

Ah Pope when we lost trapping, baiting and hounds where do you think the millions of dollars came from?  Most came from the National level.  I whole heartedly agree with you, we can have differences of opinion on policies.  But only your Democratic party works with and empowers the Animal Rights Movement.  Same as the Global Warming Sham.  I don't know why you, Maggie and Roos can't see when the Animal Rights Movements make strides forward in their agenda it's your canadates standing and applauding???

your Democratic party

My party?  I simply voted for one democratic candidate.  You should have seen the rest of my ballot.  If I voted for Rossi are they also my republican party?  Are they both my party now?  I'm not sure how this works...   :dunno:

Good question, I guess neither are my party this time since I voted for the Constitution Party.  I couldn't hold my nose and vote for McCain.  I was so disappointed with President Bush's big Govt spending that I was seriously disillusioned.   :bash:
