Cheetah compound bow

I saw this in an ad and am wondering if it would be a good buy.  I have never shot a compound before so I just want something to learn with and see if I even like archery or not.  Probably wont be hunting with it just want to get a feel for it.  Its only $35, what do you guys think?


Compound Bow. This bow manufacture is no longer in business so I guess you could say it is a collectors item. The original manufacturer was from Neenah, WI.
This is a right handed dexterity bow with a draw length of 30in and draw weight of 60-65#. This bow is very reliable and has taken many a creature to the grave.
Asking $35 obo.

You could get a good bow that you can hunt with for years to come for more money.  I would be pretty leary of a bow as old as the design of that one shows.........

I would save up some more money and buy a bow no older than 3 years old.  That bow is ancient.  Do not buy that bow.

Thanks guys.  Are there any inexpensive brands of bows out there that are alright?  I dont have a problem with spending money to get quality things but I have never even shot one so I dont want to get into the big money stuff and then not like it.  I dont know if the misses would appreciate that.

i shot a bow very similar to that years ago. if that bow was good enough then ,it is good enough today. just inspect it for cracks in limbs or other damage. if you want it and it will fit you, buy it. enjoy.

I would go to your local bow shop.  Most will let you shoot the bows and give you a crash course on bows, shooting techniques and bow safety.  The shop near me has plenty of used bows for sale also.  I have never felt pressured by an archery shop to buy anything (except for Sportsmans Warehouse).  Old bows can be dangerous depending on how they have been treated.

Those older wood limbed bows often have lost poundage because the wood has become fatigued.  I'd look for something newer.

Two words for you "Carp Bow" other than that i would let the guy keep. it is best suited for an archeology class, that bow is a fossil.

I don't know. The wood limbs might be just fine. Contrary to previous posts. Especially if they are laminated with fiberglass. The issue I would be most concerned with is maintenance. As in - if something breaks like those wheels. I guess at that price who cares though?

If it shoots straight it's worth that cash. Offer him 25 bucks and take it. If you want it...
