I got a gross of 175 based on my best estimate.  Tough to guess what the G-2's and mainbeam would go with only a vision in my head.     Probably by next week he will grow to 190.

This popped up in the randowm pics and is a pretty good representation of the buck.  The one I saw was a little wider, but the back forks weren't as deep as this one.

Great Story!  But dude, a 27" wide, 30" tall frame on a buck is crazy big!!!  And a helluva lot bigger than a 160-170" buck if he has any sort of forks at all...  Just my opinion but nevertheless it sounds like an FUN day in the field!  We got on some bucks on Tuesday and it was awesome to be out chasing them again!!!

Maybe I'm way off on height.  Width is pretty easy to judge.  How tall would you say the buck in the picture above is?  I would say 27-28" and that is real close to what I saw.

I would put the buck above about 24"-25" but that is just a GUESS!  Anybody else got some input???

I agree with width, but height is where most people go wrong... anybuck imho that goes over 20" in height is a solid buck...

21" tall.  I've seen many of 25-30" tall bucks get a tape put on them and be reduced to 20".  Also, solid bucks that don't have exceptional width tend to seem taller than they are.  Now go shoot him!!

Height is one of those things that is pretty subjective when in the field, since you have different angles, etc.  Just look at the three of us guessing on a picture.  We range from 21"-28" and I'm in construction!  You would think I would be better at eyeballing distances.

the guy i took out there last year has baseball so he bailed, to bad for him lol. really fun area to hunt with all the deer you see. how is the wheat growing this year? any bucks cruising round the prop i hunt? . there shouldnt be any guys on there so if ya see some plz let me know

Wheat looks great.  Alfalfa is thick.  I haven't seen anything back on the property you hunt, but I haven't been back down that road this year.  I have seen them to the south, east, and northwest areas of your property.  I am positive you have movement through that piece.  You are exactly right on the rifle hunting, and I just noticed they have a muzzleloader season.  I don't know when that started, but it must be a slaughter.  You should have seen it 20 years ago.  It was great for modern firearm.  10 years ago I quit hunting there because it had gotten so bad with hunters.  Now that I picked up the bow again I am enjoying some of my old public land haunts and will save the private property for the late hunt if needed.

Thanks for the luck, I can use every bit of it.  I'm not holding out for the big guy, but if I get a chance I will zero in on him.
