2009 Elk Camp!!!
«

Well I'm heading up tonight to Elk camp. I'll go ahead of the crew to set up camp, weedeat, and dig the toilet hole. I'll spend the night and come down Monday to butcher my deer. It's going to be a good year. We are hunting a 3 year burn and there are allot of animals in there. Pathfinder101 is going to hunt the second week because he has work and family obligations. I don't think anybody else from our camp is a member. I'll try and change that this week. Anyway, it's going to be a great time. Bloody hands or not. I only have two tags left to fill this year so my hopes are high that i come around a corner and see a cougar tied to an elk. That way i don't have to use two arrows hahaha. I'll post pics when it's all over. Thanks for reading and wish us all luck!!!!

I was driving on Hwy 18 earlier and saw a rig packed up heading east. As I passed I gave him the thumbs up, I can't wait to be out there on Tuesday!

Well i wused out tonight. I went and set up camp then came back home for the night. Apparently the secret is out about our spot i saw at least 15 trailers and all the cabins on the way up were full. Hopefully they pull out tomorrow after labor day. Either way it's going to be a good time ill have fun. Pick up the deer from the cooler at 0700 and start cutting. I should make it back up to camp around 1300.

Looked like many of the Colockum Archers already had thier camps set up before yesterday. Quite a few already set up. Didn't see a lot of critters, but from what I heard from friends, the tribal hunters were after them last weekend so they are a little nervous.
Good Luck to all and have FUN!
