After market trigger for Rugers
« on: September 07, 2009, 06:39:30 PM »
If you are looking for a replacement trigger for your Ruger.....

I have a friend that had a Rueger Hawkeye with a trigger pull of 5.5+ pounds. It was a real challenge to get a decent shot with it.I called Rifle Basix and picked up a RU-MK II  " Aftermarket trigger of choice for Ruger's.  Kit fits new "Hawkeye" Models with LC6 Trigger.  Right or Left Hand Application.  Comes complete with instructions, hardware pack, and wrench for easy user installation.  Operational Range: 14oz-2.5lbs"

It was a super easy install and we set the new trigger at 2.2 lbs. It brought previous 2.5 to 3.0 inch groups down to 3 rounds touching. My friend now has a very reliable good shooting Ruger. Rifle Basix makes replacement triggers for other Ruger Models as well as most other manufacturers too..

Ruger, not Rueger.

I was going to edit your post for spelling, but that didn't seem right....  :chuckle:

thanks for the info.  i've heard that ruger's triggers are terrible, but other than that they make a good looking, tough and affordable rifle.

What did the Timney cost you and was it an easy self install?

It was over 10 years ago, and I think it was about $70-$80. The hardest part about the install was I had to take some emery cloth and shave a few thousands off of the sear. It made a HUGE difference in my group size.

Thanks for the info.  I have two Rugers with factory triggers.  They shoot well, but the aftermarket triggers should shrink my groups.

the trigger will make a huge difference it is so nice to shoot with a good smooth trigger I was rather shocked at the difference.
