Opinion on sights for my Henry?
« on: September 07, 2009, 07:07:40 PM »
I have a Henry Golden Boy in .22lr, and want to use it for hunting small game, since it is my only .22, and I can't afford another.  The problem is I don't feel comfortable using the buckhorn sight for longer shots, so how do you think a Marbles Tang Sight would work?  Would it be better at longer distances?  I don't plan to shoot super Long distance, but up to thirty or forty yds. is there anything else you guys would recommend?

I have not heard of them before now, just quick looked at them, they seem cool.  :dunno:  Anyone use one before?

Lyman makes some very high quality sights. Olympic quality. Williams are basically knockoffs that are not as good.

You also might think of a Tang sight. It would look very classic and would be nice quality also.

Never, ever let Creed hold you baby, it will ruin it and you will have to get another.

Practice with that Buckhorn sight! 30-40yds is quite attainable with irons. Peep sights are great for longer distances, but moving target aquisition is much more difficult. That rifle is capable of blasting pop cans at 100yds all day long with the sights it has.

Really?  I guess I will just have to practice on some grouse, if I ever can get out.  >:(  Just a couple more weeks.
