Any Puget Sound success?
« on: September 08, 2009, 09:50:19 AM »
Anyone having any luck out in the Sound right now? My dad and I are looking to head out somewhere Saturday morning, aren't sure if we want to stick to the Elliot Bay or go north to the Edmonds or Mukilteo area. Thanks!

I'm really sick of the puget sound. I always feel like I'm chasing a needle in a haystack to be hones. Although, switching to bottom fishing outside of Shishole we easily caught our limits (i think it's like 15ea) of flounder and lots of good rockfish to be had (smaller limit though). But the salmon drive me nuts out there.

Careful about eating too much bottom fish out of the central sound, check the WDFW site for limitation on how much to eat, mercury is very high in the Sound.

yeah I saw it.  I don't see the color blue anymore, but otherwise I appear to be fine ;)

Honestly I think i'm done salt fishing. I just dont' have fun out there anymore. The bites not great, the river fishing is more active, and I'd prefer to have the boat in freshwater anyways.
