Proud Dad...Daughter nails a few birds....
«

Took the family out this last weekend for a campout/Grouse trip. Camped at around 4500' in the central part of the state for a little Grouse Hunting. The birds were not in heavy in this area yet....as we usually hunt the sunnier slopes with less brush and better visibility. A few grouse in the open, but with the mild weather, it seemed we had to move higher to find the birds in the brushier thicker areas....
My daughter and son brought their 20gauge mossbergs for the trip. Dad brought a camera. Both my kids passed hunters ed last year, my son getting his first bird last fall. So this trip was more about my 11 year old daughter getting to ride shotgun and to lead us down the trail.
She shot two birds this weekend, missing two others. Not too bad if you ask me. My son also shot another when they got a double.
Watching her jump up and down after shooting her first bird will not be forgotten, shotgun shells flying out of her pockets in the excitement.
Here are a few pics:

Way cool. I bet you were just as excited as she was. Great job in getting the kids in the outdoors.
