Need a little help
« on: September 10, 2009, 01:52:15 PM »
I was wondering if anyone knew of any spots close to Spokane Valley that I could set up a blind to get my daughter in on her first archery kill? I don't want any honey holes or secret spots, maybe just some insight on something closer to home for evening hunts. We have a set up in Newport off the river road that has shown some promise, but no connections. I am just afraid of her losing interest and wanting to bag it. She is 13 and starting to drift if you know what I mean. She gets excited when we head out, but the gaps in between she seems to look at me funny when I say "plan on connecting this weekend" like she wants to go hang out with friends. I am not pressuring her into hunting, but after a few days around the house and with friends she seems to lose the excitement. Any help would be great, but I understand if you say "tough". Thanks

You might check out the Little pend Orielle Refuge. I havent spent much time in the N.E. corner really. But last year I hunted a few days there in late buck. Only saw 5 deer, but maybe this year is different??? I'm not sure what its like in archery, but I wouldn't think it would be too tough to find a doe in there. :twocents:

You might try the IEP land Mica you will need a permit but it might be worth it. I haven't spent much time up there but you might be able to arrow one there.  :dunno: Sorry but thats all i can think of at the moment.
