Dayton? Wenaha? Muzzle or Archery
« on: September 11, 2009, 06:45:40 AM »
Please help me decide, I will have 15 points next year, 5 for multi season elk. If i was to draw the multi tag which do you guys think would be the best tag to put in for? I'm caught between Archery dayton, wenaha east or west, or Muzzle dayton, or wenaha east or west?? I see the advantages of both but just can't seen to decide what to put first, second, third and fourth on the choice card. I know it's wayyy to early to think about draws but my stomach hurts everytime i think about that time of year. Thanks for any advise.

all are fairly equal hunts, just personnel preference.

also, I know a lot of guys that will have 13-15 pts....still tough to draw.

good luck!

They seem pretty equal, the lure of being in the woods in September is immense. Having a weapon that can shoot 150yrd in early October is pretty inticing also, i went last year with a buddy who had the muzzle wenaha west tag. We hunted pretty hard and had lots of chances at rag horns but only saw 1 big bull, prob around 360 to 370 but the wind was kicking our ass. He ended up with tag soup,I know it may still be years away before i draw but i still drives me nuts on what to put first, second etc.

--The difference in the guys having 15 Bonus points to the guys with 13 is greater then a guy with 7 points to the guy with 0 points so the guys at the top are starting to pull away from the pack alittle! I really hope there the ones that pull the premiere tags!! Im in the same boat as you trophyhunt, but vacation wise im still one year out till I can start to apply again :bash: I hope I dont draw multi season next year!

Your giving me hope on those mathematical numbers...I take it when you say premiere tags you are talking about the archery one? I think next year they are going to let us partner up on the multi season tags, so maby they will also give us the option to pick ghost points also. Are you the one who has hunted in the blues before with the big bull permit w archery??

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

If I could convince a few hundred guys of that, I might be able to reduce the campers in the blues by half right now... :chuckle:

I chose muzzy, and I stuck with the blues.  I'm hoping some of the typical blues hunters will apply for the clockum and improve the odds a tiny bit?  Who knows, excited for the results but also realize it's very tough to draw.
