HELP W/ THE DUCK HUNT
« on: September 14, 2009, 09:48:28 PM »
Back again!

and in need of more helpful advice and information!  :chuckle:

Ive been trying to get into different things to hunt besides my normal deer.

And now ive become interested in hunting Duck.

Ive done some research on some lakes. IE Vancouver, Riffe, The Esquatzel Coulee Unit, Silver Lake and Davis Lake.

BUT i dont know much about where to go and how my outcome will be on these lakes.

I need help! tips or any information towards good spots, helpful advice or lakes or whatnot to help me out a bit!

Thanks so much!

Most those big lakes can be very hit or miss and you tend to get just a couple local flocks coming in and then it's shot. I would try and find some local marshes and poke around there.

Also what have ya got for gear, decoys, dog, boat? There's few spots in that area, pending on what you have for toys.

Are you familiar with Kapowsin? Dont' get on the lake unless you are familiar with it. The stumps will trash your boat and put you in the water. But you can find duck hunting locations close to where you are. You can go down towards Chelahis as well.

Get a dozen decoys, a cheaper duck call (practice a lot), and find some small marshes.  The small water can and most likely will be your best bet.
