I would like to find a savage 99 in 358 win, or a 356 winchester...maybe a 375.  I like levers.

I LOVE lever guns, but I only have a Henry Golden Boy in .22lr.

I hope to get a Marlin 1895GS in 45/70 and a Pre 64 Winchester 94, and a Puma 454 Casul.

I have a pre 64 model 99 in 308 with iron sights that my Gramps gave me years ago. That gun has some shooting time on it and is still my favorite brush gun.

I had a pre 64 30-30 winchester that I had to sell while unemployed. Only took it to Michigan hunting once and then just to the range for fun.

30-30, 32 Special and 25-35.  All old and dang good winchesters.  Two of those guns have been in the family for a long time and have killed a pile of game.

Marlin 336 in .30-30 wood/blued.  Very basic.

I'd love to get one of the laminated stock, brushed stainless .45-70s eventually.

Not to go too far off on tangent, but anyone find any aftermarket iron sights for Marlins that they like?

30/30 and 45/70
Shot a lot of deer with that old 30/30 marlin when I was a kid (a lot of grouse and coyotes as well)  My uncle gave it to me when I was 10 and I can't wait to give it to my daughter.

For iron sights on a lever gun, I think I would go with the "XS sights."

I am not a big lever fan. But I have 3 22's. A Henry, Winchester 250, and a Mossberg Palomino. Hands down the Mossberg is the best shooter. I find them great to take camping. I used to have a pre 64 30-30 that was a decent shooter but it would not cycle for anything when clean.

I have a Marlin 1895 Guide in 45-70 and a Savage 99 in 22 Hi-power (5.6x52).

I have a Win 94 Ranger in .30-30.  I replaced the wood with black synthetic and installed an XS scout scope mount.  Nice lightweight rig... 5 lbs., if that.
