There aren't any bucks there!
You must mean its a Stinlahekin buck, I can tell by the color of the antlers. There are no mulies in Sinlahekin.
Coasties Rule!
Hunted Sinlahekin last year and never will again. Beautiful country but way too many people as everyone knows. Shot a 4X4 muley on opening day. It ran into a patch of timber and out the other side. Out of sight from me. Died in a little clearing. By the time I hiked up and across and tracked it to it's final resting place two guys had beat me to him. Don't know where they came from but they already had a tag on him and were beginning to gut him. About fifteen minutes max. I hadn't heard any other shots. One continued to gut him while the other stood there with his rifle in hand. Not pointing it at me but clearly trying to intimidate. There was no doubt it was the same deer cause I had watched him for about five minutes before pulling the trigger.I asked what they thought they were doing with my deer and thanked him for gutting him for me. Well, the rifle got raised a little higher and I was informed in no uncertain terms to get the hell out of there. After I told them what I thought they were, where they came from, and where they could go, I walked away. Didn't figure it was worth it to continue the "conversation" any further cause it was going downhill rapidly and I'm not willing to get shot or to shoot someone over a deer.Went back to camp, loaded up, and went home. Kind of took the fun out of it for me. Waited until the late rifle season, went up in the NE and shot my buck there.
i hunted the late archery last year and saw 3 nice bucks but 2 were whitetails, but i did shoot a cougar though. so that should help things out a bit
Man if i had to live like that id rather die in a gun fight over my deer. Sinlahekin is great area but im not hunting there.
rather die than spend rest of my life feeling like a victim. Sit when you pee too?
