a little frustrating

I was not able to make the opener this year, but I went out Saturday and saw lots of sign but nothing fresh. As I was driving to a different area I talked to a guy scouting and he told me that opening morning he saw 3 true spikes, a 6x7, and about 10 cows in the field that I always hunt. And to make matters worse he said there was no one hunting anywhere in the area. At least it is comforting to know that there are some big bulls that have eluded the shady characters.

had 14 cows and a spike working theire way up a naked ridge right at me but un fortunately I ran out of light before they got close. the good thing is it seems like everyone is on the road or just off of it so the elk are still pretty relaxed
