Willapa Hills harvest
« on: September 14, 2009, 12:33:49 PM »
I wish I had an exciting story behind my bull from the 10th, but it was an ambush plain and simple!  I was hunting one of my favorite walk-in units near home.  I could hear the herd busting through the reprod. coming uphill towards me.  I think my bugle earlier had this little guy on the run!  :yike:  I just ran along the road paralleling them from above.  They busted out of the brush right in front of me.  Thankfully, the bull was the only one that stopped and posed for a shot!  Not a whopper, but any elk with a bow a trophy in my eyes.

Great job.  I've spent the majority of my elk hunting time down in that general area, I love hunting the coast.  Good ears will get you further than good eyes in a lot of areas down there, you're right about that.
