well good to hear some of you guys did end up gettin a hound tag

The paper lies!

I called WDFW today since there's a conflict in what I was awarded, 'Okanogon boot on line', 'Stevens/Pend Oriell with hounds on the little card that came in the mail.

I was told that there was a printing snafu at the state run printing department. That the incorrect information was printed and mailed for several permit applicants. He didn't elaborate on each species that may have incorrect information sent, just that there will be a followup to this mailing with corrected information. I am confirmed to have been awarded the Okanogon boot hunt which is listed for me online.

As a state employee myself, this pisses me off. No, I'm not perfect. But if I did this sort of shotty work I wouldn't expect to have a job very long.

Totally unacceptable service to a paying customer.

I'm not sure how they will prosecute anyone using dogs.  I have a special permit from the state authorizing me to use dogs.  I won't be using it, but if someone else is out there hunting with their dogs and were cited, you'd have the get out of jail free card in that permit.  IMHO

A young friend of mine drew the Pond Oreille with dogs tag so we will be looking to hook up with someone who wants to run their dogs.  He is pretty stoked!

Hmmmm Judge I never got a second card in the mail?  Just this permit issued by the State saying I was authorized to use dogs in the pursuit of cougars.

next year everyone needs to pay attention and do not apply for any boot hunts maybe then the game department will drop them and go back to how it was. I didnt even look at the regs on cougar permits, then when I researched it a little bit I find out I cant hunt cougars in any area I hunt unless I have a damn permit

I received a call today from WDFW they informed me that they had made a mistake and asked if I would kindly tear up my cougar permit and they would send me another one.  :bash:
I told them that there must be some mistake because I only put in for one hunt and that was the same one they sent me the permit for. He says hold for a minute please. :chuckle: He comes back on the phone and says, no you applied for the hound hunt and for the boot hunt and you were selected for the boot hunt. I said, no I only applied for the hound hunt and if I had applied for the boot hunt and was selected for it then why did you send me a permit to use hounds. He said im sorry sir but that is why i am calling you because there was a mistake and the wrong permits were sent out to some people. I said your telling me that WDFW made a mistake, he said yes. I said then you need to double check because i think your making another one because I only put in for the hound hunt. He said he would have his supervisor check on it and they would call me back.

In all reality I did apply for both hunts and according to there website was selected for the boot hunt. But I figure if these guys cant get stuff right and want to F%&* with our heads then I will do the same with them! :chuckle:
