Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

It's a start, better than where we were a year ago, we just gotta keep moving forward in the management of the wolves.  Congrats to the lucky Montana hunter.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.

I thought I read in there that the Fish & Game folks were taking into consideration the "back country" hunts and allowing slightly longer time limits so long as you described the hunt area or GMU.  :dunno:

MT is excellent in regards to back country or other special closures/reporting requirements.  You have to legitamately be in an area where you can not report or if you kill after an emergency closure but still within the open season when you left to hunt.  You are good to go, but they don't just take your word for it.  You better have some factual information that they will verify.

Yes, I saw that on the Idaho regs, didn't see it on the MT regs, but I might have missed it.  ID they have 24 hours.  I was suprised by the 12 hour limit in MT.

Why not keep it cold until you come out and then report it? I seriously doubt they are going CSI on hunters and trying to determine the exact time of death. I sure as hell wouldn't be hiking out of the place I hunt just to report my wolf kill and then hike all the way back in. :bdid:
