SpokaneSlayer I shoot them myself, sometimes in two or three states per year. I love venison and does are usually better than bucks.

I think this stigma that hunting is all about trophy hunting in many ways ruins the sport, hunting is also about family time, getting away from everyday life, and putting meat on the table.

Good luck hunting..... ;)

No shame.  Youv'e hunted hard for a buck and would be happy shooting a doe for some great eating, go for it.  Personal satisfaction is what hunting is about to me. :twocents:

Do what makes you happy. If you have chased bucks for a while with no luck and want meat nothing wrong with taking a doe. I have shot many does because I like venison and I have a hard time getting big bucks... just doesn't seem to work out. Have fun and enjoy it.

Personally, I hunt for two reasons: 1) I love being outdoors. 2) I love eating animals.
I hunt with the intent of killing the first legal animal I can, whether it's a doe or a big buck, and it's worked pretty well so far. Many does, one 6x6 whitetail!
The more I get to know the less I find that I understand.

Shoot the doe! You will enjoy it just as much as if it was a buck.  Hunting isn't about the size of the animal.  Its about being out in the woods, having fun, and doing what you love to do.  If you are starting to get frustrated chasing after bucks, then that  takes the fun out of the hunt....and with the end of the season fast approaching, take the doe! She will taste pretty darn good!!! Good luck!!!

I broke my cherry with a doe last year...gonna go try for another tommorrow and Sunday. Joy about MT is that I have about 3 doe tags in my pocket and can get more! And still chase a buck till mid October with my bow... then all of November with my rifle...Ahhhh...Life is good!
