Elk around Chewelah?
« on: September 16, 2009, 10:25:19 AM »
Anyone want to share an area around Chewelah that might hold some elk? I know of private land that has some, but nothing I can access. Thanks

Good luck with that. That's pretty much one area that no one really will give up unless you family. ;)

There are several spots, but people keep those cards pretty tight to their chest, shoot me a PM and I can probably send you in the right direction.

I am not saying that I am withholding info. I just moved here so couldnt even tell you where to start. I just have had a hard time getting people to give me some info on the area.

That's an any bull spot... Last year, day after Elk, starting of Deer.. I had a spike bull within pistol range! I was so pissed!

Any bull east of 395, any elk west of 395. Chances of getting an elk on public land are slim to none. I have property just SW of town and had a group of 6 cross my property last year, but they don't stick around, they are in constant motion. I know where they are, but it's all private property with no chance of hunting them, so it wouldn't do any good to say. Try the other side of 49 towards Calispell Lake. :stirthepot:
