My buddy just got a nice duckboat and we've chosen to look up north rather than go east this season to scout.  Any suggestions? We'd love to find a nice place on any lakes/rivers... Anyone open to sharing suggestions?  Please let me know!

Thanks,
Mark

I would go east more birds to shoot.

I second that one.  Plus the few birds we hve all like to sit in the salt so they don't taste as good.

no for real, there are a few hunting spots that i know of, Wylie Slough in conway and lake terrel in bellingham, they get pretty packed especially on the weekends so get there early in the am, buddy and me actually get there a couple hours before shooting time just to try and get the good blinds, sometimes we are there at 4, week days are a lot easier to get a good spot.

If you want the good blind where all the shooting is give or take weather 2:00 am would be a better time to arrive.

*censored*! why do we even go to bed the night before? it might be easier sometimes just to stay up then get and hour or 2 nap in the blind :chuckle:

When I was fresh out of H.S. we didn't.  Went out with all the friends they afterwards we drove home grabbed the gear and headed out and got set up.  Then slept in the blind until we heard the first group of hunters heading our way.

Dang i cant sleep in the blind... well lets say i cant sleep standing up... or more like shouldn't not while im holding my shotgun  :chuckle: :bdid: Got to whiley slough what about 3 hours before opening and got all set up and was in a blind with out a bench or blind stool, literally fell asleep standing up, almost tore down the makeshift blind trying to catch my balance... scary stuff that falling asleep, seemed so innocent.....
