Another bear down
« on: September 21, 2009, 01:33:55 PM »
Sorry for the lousy pic, Last day of hunting before I had to come back to Wenatchee and the wife said she wanted some bear meat. Wasn't very big, 208 lbs, but had a really nice hide but I've already have too many rugs. I believe this is my 22nd or 23rd bear. Took the shot at 117 yrds in a sitting position with a 270 about 15 minutes before legal hunting hours were over for the day. It's the 4th bear I've taken with a rifle usually it's with a bow, I was aiming between the eyes but shot about 2 inches high. At least I made my wife happy after being gone for 2.5 weeks, Or maybe she was happy I was gone for 2.5 weeks.   :chuckle:

Congrats!

22nd or 23rd bear? Don't be alarmed if you notice someone following you around. I'm harmless.

It's not that impressive when it averages out to about one every other year since my first one was 44 yrs ago.  :chuckle:
