boneaddict are you talking about the buck in the picture I posted? If so I would like to hear more of the story because I know for a fact that this buck was killed in Stevens County. It was also not killed by a legal hunter. Big game Inc. now owns the rack as far as I know but it cannot be legally entered into the record books due to the main beam being broke off right above the base. So please if someone else is claiming to have shot this buck let me know and I will fill you in. Nothing ****es me off more than to see some one claim a buck that they did not shoot themselves let alone one that was not harvested legally in the first place.

I have a picture of Cooks buck.  Let me compare them.  I was just answering Popes question.  Heres the deal, Cooks was the state record for the longest time before Big Game Inc came intot he picture as the states record book.  I don't know if Cook ever entered his rack into that record book.  Let me look at the picture or get a picture of his on here with the score.  Thanks for re-directing me back here to your question.  Sorry I missed it.  Got my irons in too many fires. :)   I'll look tonight and see if I can scan the picture.

Aweswome sheds and bucks guys.  Just wanted to throw a little info in here for whats its worth.  I was checking out the Boone and Crocket website.  And they have some new info on there about what trophies they will score. And before if you had broken a point off, or skull plate cracked or something like that it was thrown out right away couldnt and wouldnt be scored.  I guess now they are taken them on a case by case bases now. If they find it that it is a true break and the antler put back on wasnt altered or whatever they may except the trophy and score it for the record books.  I am sure if they except the score the washington book would have to take the score as well.

Interesting to know Garrett
Pope is still denying them I believe.  The form specifically says any type of repair or alteration or something like that and it will be denied.

WAmuleyHuter,
I believed the washington state book will accept anything no matter what type of repair to it. The thing is with this buck it was not harvested during a legal hunting season. The person that shot it backed up into the deer and completely broke off the left main beam about 3" up from the base in his haste to get the deer loaded up and out of their. The rack was then sold to a local guy for around a $1000.00. As far as I am concerned this buck deserves the credit in the washington state record book as being the state record. However if someone trys to claim that they shot this deer and trys to get it into the B&C book I will personally blow the case wide open and I have plenty of friends that know exactly what I am talking about.

Its a different buck.......first of all Cook hasn't entered his in the NW Big game or state record book.  His buck scores 181 7/8 typical.  That apparantly would be #3 now.
