Opening day bull

I drew the Teanaway September 21-25 Rifle tag. After 11 weekends of scouting an area I had never hunted before, I pulled the trigger on the first day. I saw a few bigger bulls scouting but I am very happy with what I got. The two days before the hunt we saw 13 different bulls in one spot. All of them were trying to get their part of the 30 cows that were in there. It was amazing. I can still hear bulls screaming in my head. My three buddies and I went back to that spot yesterday morning and there was only one bull. He was a 330ish 6x7, with a broken eyeguard. He wasnt quite what I was looking for. We heard some bugles off in the distance so two of my buddies and I decided to go toward those couple of bugles to see what was going on over there. After about an hour of this deep thunderous bugle with chuckles to follow every time I bugled and us trying to close the distance. We snuck down what we thought would be the last ridge and there he was. He was coming to try to get a piece of us. He stood there striaght on at about 50 yards and my buddies are in my ear saying," Dave he's a 7x7." I just stood there looking through my scope to see tine length and mass and when he wheeled a pulled the trigger. I looked at my buddies and they were pumped. I was not sure what to think as it was the first day and I wasn't sure if I had screwed up. When I got to him, I was very happy. He isnt the biggest bull over there, but he is good to me. Should make a nice addition to my house. I am not sure what he scores yet. Anybody want to throw some numbers out? I am having a buddy score him tonight.

Very nice bull and great work! How many points did you have for the tag? Did you post this in the Elk section too?

That's awesome beardown. How big does it have to be for you to smile in the picture?
That's a well deserved bull. I know you put a lot of scouting into this guy. We talked to you on the 5th and 6th of Sept and you were puttin the time in. I was one of the guys with the 28 foot trailer stuffed into the trees near Red Top that couldn't seem to find deer.
Happy to meet a fellow member of this site - even if it was through a truck window. Congratulations on a great bull.

Nice looking bull! Picture is a little decieving but Im guessing in the 315 - 320 range thats if Im reading the picture correctly. That could be way off too. Nice job.
