Turkeys around Cle Elum/Liberty/Taneum/Wenas?

Does anyone know how the turkey hunting around Cle Elum and Wenas area's. I'm looking at trying to hunt these area's this year instead of the northeast corner. Any info. would be great. Thanks, Anthony

I saw a few up bear hunting this year around lake cle elum.

Holy Crap!!!  Turkeys out Bear hunting!!!!  Man, I was thinking about going turkey hunting this year, but if they are hunting bears, I don't think I want to mess with them.... :chuckle: :chuckle:

Well now......there are birds in the Wenas, and there are birds in Cleelum, and there are birds in Ellensburg  but let me tell you......there are more birds in one acre on average in the NE corner than there is total here. It depends if you want to bag a bird, and want to hunt and don't mind a little skunk action.

there seems to be more hunters than turkeys in the kittitas valley and the wenas.  I would continue to hunt NE.

ive seen them from clockum all the way to the pacific crest trail...all north of i90 and south of highway 2. thats a big area i know...but the birds are there. just get out and do some calling and im sure you will find them

id focus in the liberty area though, and up around lake cle elum. those are the areas i see the most birds. i see them all during archery elk season though...and im not sure if they are in the same areas during the spring time or not.

then you also have to think about the snow factor this time of year when you start getting into the high elevations (which is where i usually see birds)
