Justices to Decide if State Gun Laws Violate Rights
Court, Which Reversed D.C. Ban, Will Look to Local Level in 2nd Amendment Case

This is a hot issue. I hope we have enough members on the bench that think the 2nd Amendment is worth saving and not slicing it up little by little. I for one am worried about the people Obumbles has on the side lines and the woman he appointed and was approved.

Here is a little article from the NRA about Ireland. Notice if you will that part about MEDICAL RECORDS!!!!!!

Ireland’s Back-Door Gun Ban
A few weeks ago, I told you about Ireland's new ban on practical shooting, which comes as part of Justice Minister Dermot Ahern's crackdown on what he calls "gun culture." Far from going after violent criminals, Ahern seems to have the law-abiding gun owner square in his sights, and he's not just going after the relatively few number of handgun owners in Ireland.

Thousands of farmers are now racing against the clock to complete a new nine-page gun registration form. If they don't complete it and turn it in to their local police department, they become criminals. And what's in this registration form? According to the Independent newspaper, "medical details, character references, proof of competence, source of firearms and other details." Even worse, when gun owners ask their local police for help with the form, the police have no answers. If they do manage to complete the form, they'll be paying a lot more for their license, since the Irish government is raising the licensing fee by 400 percent.

It's almost like Minister Ahern wants to make things as difficult as possible for Ireland's few remaining gun owners in the hopes they'll just give up, in effect trying to force a back-door gun ban. Meanwhile, the vicious and the violent aren't going to obey these new laws any more than they're obeying the ones currently on the books in Dublin and Belfast.
