Went up the mountain @ 5:15 Saturday morning with my buddies Mike and Chris, got to an ideal spot on the edge of a clearcut with a really nice draw and sat down right at shooting light.  I was all excited and settling in, before I could turn my GPS on to see where Mike and Chris were sitting, Mike finds me and says "let's go, Chris just shot a deer."  So we hiked back down the mountain, met up with Chris and his nice fork-horn buck, took it home, and skinned and quartered it.  At 2:30 Mike and I decide to go back up the mountain to the same spot for the evening hunt, we get up there and split, I get back to the same spot, settle in, turn on my GPS and hear a gunshot.  Mike gets on the radio and says he's got a bear down about 500 yards from me.  I head towards him, he said he army crawled and closed the gap to 120 yards and shot him through the neck as he was quartering away.  Anyways, gutted the bear, tied him to a log and packed him back out, went home again and skinned and quartered it.  Good Saturday.  Funny thing was the whole time we were walking up the mountain we were seeing really fresh piles of bear scat, and as we split at the top, I told Mike to go shoot that bear.
