Last day of archery elk season, we did a 2+ mile hike in the morning and about 3 miles at midday, nothing much moving after about 8am. So we opted to do some grouse hunting in the evening. Got into a small covey and the boy scored. A little anxiety for a few minutes when we couldn't find the bird (no dog on an elk hunting trip), but we finally recovered it. I don't think he could have been much happier if he'd killed a bear.
