Pathfinder Jr. First blood of 09
« on: September 29, 2009, 05:42:07 PM »
Last day of archery elk season, we did a 2+ mile hike in the morning and about 3 miles at midday, nothing much moving after about 8am.  So we opted to do some grouse hunting in the evening.  Got into a small covey and the boy scored.  A little anxiety for a few minutes when we couldn't find the bird (no dog on an elk hunting trip), but we finally recovered it.  I don't think he could have been much happier if he'd killed a bear. :chuckle:
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

One of the best memories you both will have..
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.
