Went out in the wind tonight. Called this male in after about 20 min. 140 yards sitting down looking at me. Guess he waited to long :chuckle:

Updated through this post.

I am going to let you guys in on a coyote hunting secret...If you want to see a lot of coyotes, leave your rifle and camera at home.  I went pheasant huntign with the in-laws on Sunday.  We saw 6 coyotes between Rosalia and Garfield.  While we are loading up the truck in the morning, I pick up the .204 and then say nah, we'll just concentrate on pheasant.   :bash:  Then I forgot to grab my camera bag that I had set by the door.   :bash:

Anyway, had fun shootign pheasant.  They held tight with the snow we had.  My brother in law actually caught a hen by hand.  She wouldn't flush out of the layed over grass we were hunting so he lifted her up and tossed her in the air.  We ended up with 3 roosters, and the dog set about 12 birds total, so there was a lot of excitement.

Wastickslinger - let me know if that is two pictures of the same coyote, or 2 coyotes.  The markings look the same to me, but I don't want to short you any points.

Just a stupid question. What do u do with them after you kill em? I have never ate a yote and don't think it would be very good. When I killed a couple in Montana the rancher paid me $25 each. Do u sell them up here or what? I see no reason to kill one unless it is disturbing local ranchers and you get paid for it or you are going to eat it.

Anyone?

You don't eat them, the fur is used and it's a form of predator control.  They are extremely hard on deer populations, extremely hard!

Duckfvr, At the rate your buying new toys pretty soon you're going need a pack mule. :chuckle: I've called in a couple dandy bucks so far this year too, one of them to about 20 feet of us. Wish I could have found them during the early archery hunt.

Walt asked me to post this pic - as he will be out for awhile.  He shot this yote at 300 yards while deer hunting the late whitetail in the NE corner this morning.  He couldn't remember the team name, so he only put the date in the snow.
Hopefully this gets us on the board
