Those ones are frustrating, but they're the ones that make success so gratifying. What gets me is when they sit down like a porch dog and just stare out at 400 or so. It's like they are taunting you. Hitting a spot tomorrow that i havent been to yet this year, it's a really tough hunt but has been productive in the past. We'll see. WooHoo!!

A new team "Team Dog Down" has been established out of the eastside (Spokane area). The team consists of "bighorn2bushytails", "wannabhntr", "SpokaneSlayer", "Straight Shooter", plus one more (he's going to register soon).  Sent a few PMs to "tlbradford", so we can formally be added to the group.

Continued good luck guys and gals... be safe!!

Damn it Big10.............you're supposed to be elk hunting!!!

I had one hold up at 359 yards....I let him go, figured I'd get him next time, wind was blowing pretty hard left to right.  Problem is I used every trick in the book and he wouldn't come in any further...

Guess I need a new book.    :dunno:

We went Elk hunting but for only one day.  :IBCOOL: , Since it was BullElk's turn to get a elk this year he shot a nice cow after about 4.5 hrs of hunting in 8 deg weather.  So far 1 elk 2 deer. That's enough meat to put up. Now I'm getting ready to head to Mexico in a few days for a week, nothing to do down there except laying on the beach watching girls, drinking tequila sunrises, laying on the beach watching girls, drinking, laying on the beach watching girls, drinking tequila sunrises, laying on the beach watching girls, drinking, laying on the beach watching girls.drinking tequila sunrises, laying on the beach watching girls, drinking, laying on the beach watching girls. Well you get the idea  :chuckle: :chuckle:

Team Wet Spot//// YAR

Good day today.

1st set was a bust

#2 called in a good sized male. Came in hard left and saw me get the rifle ready and just wouldn't stop. I had a split second left gave about a dog lead and let fly. Heard the thump and it went down. 125 yards and trotting ended up making a perfect hit, that doesn't happen often.

Set #3 Forgot my foxpro at #2 and had to go back about 1/2 mile to get it.  :bash:  Left Bighorns2Bushytails to do a set while I was gone. He called in a couple but never saw them. I saw them when I was on the way back. They hung on him about 5-600 yards out and he never knew they were there.

Set#3 Called one in at about 230 or so. He just sat and stared so I started the pup in distress and he started coming in. He got to about 170 from me and probably 220-230 from BH2BT and busted him.  :bash: He just froze and stared. BH2BT missed his shot into the sun. Sometimes things just don't work out.

Set#4 We split up again hoping to get BH2BT into position for a good shot. Started calling and immediately got challenged. I challenged right back, waited a bit and started yelping. Damn dog came in from my hard right running. He stopped at the edge of a draw at 200+. I hoped he'd come straight up to me but he decided to cut across to downwind me. I knew I should have just shot but I didn't and he did evedently wind me. never saw him again.

Set #5 Bust

Set #6 Called for quite a while here. Got some howls but I was losing my patience and the wind was picking up and it was getting damn cold. I was getting ready to bag it and off to our right 6-700 yards out is a pair. They're coming towards us (sort of) and I'm not sure what to think. They get to the top of the network of brows we were on and turn towards us coming at a pretty good clip. Not running but definately committed. As soon as the big male who was in back goes out of site I switch up to prone. She tops the crest of the hill out in front at 200ish and just stops and stares. I'm just letting the foxpro run with pup in distress turned pretty low. She waits a while then hubby shows up behind her. BH2BT says he'll take #2 but the #1 starts pretty much making a charge and he's hanging back. I can't let her get closer because if she gets out of sight in 30 yards or so she make take a right and get into our wind. I bark to stop her and she does at 135. I wait a second (I guess) hoping #2 is stopped and I shoot. I downed her and #2 bolts. I kind of screwed BH2BT out of his dog but I geuss I got the fever. SORRY MAN!!!!! I OWE YOU!!!!

Set #7 is a bust and we go home.

Great day today. Saw 8 called in 6, got busted by one  :bash: and missed two. :bash: Neither miss was by any means a gimme.  :bash:

Got 3 more for team High Desert. Did not have a sign with us today so took pics when we got home. The first pic was a coyote at 512yards with my 204 ruger in the head. Better to be lucky than good.  :chuckle:
