Man Big 10, nice dog!!!!  You guys seem to have all the big dogs up there.  Have you had any problem using that 32gr v-max, splattering & not taking down the dogs?
Only on the 600 yd shots  :chuckle:

One more for SBA. I was able to pick up this 28# male on our way out this morning. Poor thing decided to stop out in the open field at 200 yds, bad mistake. :dunno:

Way to go guys.

We went out today and saw several but only blasted at one, and he was runnin' for dear life  :chuckle:

Came home and saw one out behind the house and two across the highway. Maybe next weekend will be better  :dunno:
Tomorrow is a work around the house day, change oil in the car, load ammo, change oil in the 4 wheeler, load more ammo, put in more fence posts, load more ammo, you know the typical day around here with Honey do's   :chuckle:

I've told Swag no more pics posted of live dogs.  I did get this one in the camera taken alive, then taken close.  I got this really cool camera.  It allows me to watch coyotes up real close and then see their reaction when I find them too close to the cows.  This one saw me and just fell over dead.   :chuckle: :chuckle:

She was a mangy little female.

I later picked up a male that was in pretty good shape.  I took a pic just before I tossed them on "THE PILE".  Its been growing....

careful - your pile may spontaniously combust like a hay fire when it gets warmer  :chuckle:

There has got to be around 50 dogs on that pile.  You think a close up would be a decent photo of the month candidate?   :chuckle: :chuckle:

2 more for SBA, We got out today and I took a "guest" out, First set called in a pair and he took the first shot on the broadside female with his .204 Lazer ( not red lazer but green) 32 gr hyper velocity straight as a string bullet. Every called in coyote he's shot with that .204 Lazer has dropped like a rock.  :chuckle: :chuckle: Anyway after he dumped her (like a rock mind you, 32 gr too like a lazer) the second coyote took off over the ridge so I used a distress and back over the ridge came the male and I put him down. Sometimes I wonder if it's fair to take advantage of their instinct to do so. On another set while calling I saw 4 coyotes get up from laying down in the grass and slowly just walk away, seemed like they weren't interested in what I was offering but like they got tired of being disturbed from their nap and went to a quieter place. Coyote hunting is one of my most favorite types of hunting, but I think I'm about ready to hang it up until next year and let them have a little rest time before they have their pups. Also need to reacquaint myself with my family who may or may not have noticed my 6 month absence every weekend!! :chuckle: Anyway sage rats, ground squirrels and rockchuck season is here so it's time to start gearing up for them.

P.S We always give each other the business on their "caliber" of choice for coyotes and even a guest is fair game, and he sure got his fair share today. Doesn't really matter which caliber it is we can always give them cr@p about it, I'm just glad he wasn't shooting a .17 today  .

Big10 and T-bone went one way and Ol'Dan and I went the other way. Not much responding to the calls so we went to the spot and stalk method. Saw a pair laying in the sun on the south side about 800 yds so we made a big circle. We where able to get within 275 yds, started to call to get them closer. Those dogs are so lazy in this warm weather they only came 5 yds closer before they sat down and looked at us. Ok time to shoot, dog down. Did miss one earlier at 312 yds.  :dunno:

I went out this morning to go shed hunting, i decided to pack along my .204 and just a single call incase i felt the need to do a stand. Well the itch got the best of me around 7:30 1hour into shed hunting. It was absolutely freezing this morning and it started really getting to me 10 minutes into the stand, well i had a coyote coming in directly downwind from me and stopped about 200 yards away. I set up for the shot but couldnt stop shivering. And when i went to pull the trigger i physically couldnt pull the trigger, i even had gloves on. Well i sent a shot out and missed the easy coyote. I was pissed and decided to go farther out and do another stand. I set up and called and had a coyote show itself right off the bat he came into 378 yards and bedded down. I was still freezing at the time and it took forever to range the distance he was at, but finally did. I let one go and that was the end of it. .204 ruger. 32 gr vmax did the job 378 yards.

1 more for SBA,  Ol'Dan and I went out today.  This guy tried to give us the slip but then he decided to stop at 144 yds and I let him have it. After 10 am we couldn't call a dog in, seemed they were just too lazy to get out of their beds. Did have a pair interested, looked like the male wanted to come in but the female had some doubts and left. And as a dutiful soon to be father, he decided he better follow along.
