NEW TOY NEW TOY NEW TOY
« on: October 01, 2009, 12:12:16 PM »
I thought I would celebrate being UN-banned from huntwa by showing you guys my new toy. Just picked it up off a new buddy of mine who has owned it for around 20 years and it is in almost new condition. He said he didn't shoot it much because he had a .22 for plinking.  I am super stoked.  I have wanted a 1911 style pistol for a long time and this one came by at a great price.   :rockin:

Colt MK IV Model 80 Combat Commander .45acp
He also gave me a GI leather holster, a box of FMJ and two packs of #9 .45 shotshell

What i'm thinking happened was, in a widespread counter internet-terrorism attack my IP address was caught in a crossfire between huntwa mods and a known huntwa assailant.  lol i was meerily collateral damage.

this is all i could get from my home internet.

I've had this Officer's ACP for more than 20 years. Used to carry it a lot.  I'd love to have a Commander.

I like the stainless jack.

now looking into it i think it would be cool to build one with a double stack frame.

Learn to shoot well, and you won't have to double tap! No need for double stack weight of the gun loaded on your hip.

This target is at 50yds with one hand and iron sights. 8 of 10 rounds in less than 3". (not with the Officer's ACP, but a different 1911)

I have a couple of .45s... it takes a lot of trigger time to be able to shoot them well.

I love my Gold Cup.  By far the nicest firearm in my collection (and the best shooter).
Look man, some times you just gotta roll the dice

I dumped about 10,000 rounds through my Kimber in the last 16 months. I expect to throw more than that through it next year.

That Commander is a very nice carry piece to have.

the 45 got it's first kill this weekend. put the stalk on a feild mouse with a beautiful coat and let the air out of him at about 10 feet with the #9 shot shell on a running shot.  Got some itty bitty back straps that are gonna be nice on the grill.
