Quail Opener!!!
« on: October 01, 2009, 03:54:04 PM »
So who is going out for the quail opener this weekend? Me, kwackwacker, and maybe snipekillr are gonna hit it up on Saturday. Can't wait, its been awhile since I shot anything, besides a few doves :bash:. Supposed to be high's in the 50's on saturday, combined with great numbers of quail, shoud make for a great hunt. :IBCOOL:

HELL YA  :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL:
My Dog's are going crazy. They know the season is at hand.  They have been sitting on the pouch of my man cave just waiting for me to pull out my gear.  Will hit the Basin Sunday and the Lower Valley on Monday.

Anyone else going to be about chasing the little rockets?

Man i miss upland hunting, my GSP is almost 14 years old and long retired and i lost my upland hunting partner who lives in quincy due to divorce (he is married to my ex wifes sister so we cant hunt together anymore  :'(), good luck and have fun..
If anyone out there needs a partner let me know...
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

I'm always looking for a safe, responsible partner especially if you can bring some good hunting areas to the table.  I have plenty of dogs.

I know how you feel.  My golden retriever will turn 14 on November 5th.  We got out for the pheasant opener last year but that was it.  Luckily we got one, but you could actually see the sadness in his eyes when he couldn't make it through the thick reeds to retrieve it.  We'll hunt some open flat sagebrush country next weekend, but I have to limit him to about 1 mile walks now.  I will get out with my brother-in-laws weim who is one of the most amazing natural hunters I have been behind.
Dreams are forever on the mind, realization in the hands.

Ill be going out! But it will be my first time in 11 years hunting without my best freind! :'(

He was the best dog, and partner a hunter can ask for. But I figure Ill keep him at home so he can live the rest of his life pain free and happy.

I will be going with my son. My Dad unfortunately made plans to go to my Aunts tailgate party and watch the game afterwards, so he won't be going (so did I, but I got my priorties straight! HUNTING FIRST!). I will have two new hunting partners going also. My GWP pup and my dad's GWP pup. It is going to a learning experience, but if they show only half of their desire for birds we are going to be way ahead, especially with my female. My Sofie girl's eyes change along with the whole dog when birds are present. Let me at the little buggers!

Now that sounds like a better deal than an ex wife's sister's new hubby deal. Your old ex buddy sounds like a trader to me! hahahaha
